Eric S. Raymond (1957- )

Hacker and science-fiction addict, proud of his moustache and guns, who calls Pennsylvania his home, where he graduated from the University of Penn in 1978. He is a master programmer, a founder of the Open Source movement, and a recorder of hacker culture and lore. He figured out how to make free software understandable to the corporate world, driving Netscape's decision to open the code for their browser. He exchanges ideas and barbs with Larry Wall, Lawrence Lessig, and his friend Richard Stallman.
