Leonard Kleinrock

Computer scientist influential in the development of ARPAnet. As a graduate student at MIT/Lincoln Lab alongside his close friend Larry Roberts and Ivan Sutherland, he developed the mathematical theory behind large distributed data networks. He went on to lead the UCLA team that received the first IMP, which included students such as Vint Cerf and Jon Postel.
